Comment on From lust to love by Shikhar Maheshwari.

Really lust is so dangerous that it can manifest itself in many ways in this world in in various situation. But that doesn’t mean that the entire gamut of spiritual practitioners of a genuine spiritual path are wrong. But to really identify the right from wrong requires purity of heart which was exhibited by HH Radhanath Swami at a very young age when he was Richard Slavin. It is only through purity of heart that attracts the mercy of Lord to follow a path to reach him as God guided HH Radhanath Swami. This is a lesson for all of us how we must aspire for such purity of heart.

Celebrating God’s birthday
HH Radhanath Swami although apparently appears to be non-Indian in Origin with regards to birth, his understanding of Festivals and Supreme Lord Krishna as God of Law and God of Love far far exceeds that of even a staunch Indian ritualist well versed in Vedic Knowledge. So much so that Krishna has given him the potential to make atheists into devotees of Lord. This clarifies the universality of God and the fact that superficial appearances and nothing to do with the relationship of the soul with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Radhanath Swami’s words are filled with conviction of Krishna as Supreme Personality of Godhead that can inspire so many of us.

Battle between the mind and the heart
Once Srila Prabhupada said that accepting Guru is a serious business and most important decision of your life because you need to be committed to your spiritual master. The struggle of mind and self as shown by HH Radhanath Swami indicated his seriousness to accept a Spiritual master to whom one is committed. As commented above, both the jeweler and the jewel were brought together by the providence and the jeweler recognized the value of the jewel

Severe austerities of the Naga Babas
HH Radhanath Swami tried of the various spiritual paths and duly respected them. He actually decided to dedicate himself to a particular path of Devotion only after deep deliberation and dedicated wholeheartedly . This actually shows how we are supposed to dedicate ourselves to the spiritual life with that faith and conviction.

Motherhood and family culture
HH Radhanath Swami by means of his wonderful work “The Journey Home” sets before us an example how each and every experience of our life can be seen as a means to connect to the Supreme Almighty God. The only price we need to pay is to have the same burning desire to know the Absolute Truth which Richard carried in his heart…

In the neighborhood of leopards and cobras
Radhanath Swami’s faith in the Holy name of the Supreme God is something beyond my descriptive ability. It makes me pray to the Lord “Oh Lord, let me also develop such a faith on your holy names one day…”

  36. Usually all of us pray for material things like wealth, good job, nice spouse, etc and we also make deals saying that if we get what we ask for, then we will donate coconuts or feed brahmins, etc. But that is not what we should pray for. We should pray out of love and a sense of gratitude. We should pray for his love and blessings.
