Being an instrument of kindness
In my last twenty two years of services here in Mumbai, my single most important priority has been to endeavour to create a community of genuine devotees who really love and serve others. — This statement of Radhanath Swami Maharaj outlines the importance he gave to the people. Is Absolute Truth Personal or Impersonal?
Srila Prabhupada charmed the heart of Radhanath Swami Maharaj by resolving the contradiction between impersonal and personal features of the Lord. It is important to understand that diffrent persons may be approaching diffrent aspects of the same God and thus there is no need of conflicts in the name of religion.
Culture of love and appreciation
One should be willing to undergo any austerities to develop the mood of genuinely appreciating the good qualities of other devotees. – What a statement! when Radhanath Swami Maharaj glorifies other devotees, we feel as if we are sprinkled with nectar. That nectar seems to remain with us forever and sweet memories of the discourse fills the heart with joy and gives impetus to practice devotion more sincerely.
Becoming trustworthy
Thanks for this post. It clearly shows how we should treat everyone with respect and not take them cheaply. Radhanath Swami Maharaj is so amazing that he takes into account even apparently insignificant details and learns from it.

Today he was ordered to go to India. Born and raised in the middle class suburbs of Chicago, Radhanath swami grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s era when popular musicians protested war, prejudice and social injustice. Radhanath swami would listen to these songs again and again, but their lyrics referring to God stirred his soul. Peter, Paul and Mary- the folk trio from Greenswich village sang in their debut album

This simple prayer was to guide Radhanath swami in the coming years of his life........

View CommentUsually all of us pray for material things like wealth, good job, nice spouse, etc and we also make deals saying that if we get what we ask for, then we will donate coconuts or feed brahmins, etc. But that is not what we should pray for. We should pray out of love and a sense of gratitude. We should pray for his love and blessings.
